Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the tank corrosion free?

A: The tank is supposed to be corrosion free, but I recommend replacing the tank drain valve. The ball in the valve is made of steel, which does not play nice with water. I bought my compressor in August 2020, I replaced the valve June 2022 with a 1/4” brass valve because it was so rusted.

Q: Will this work well with 100 feet of hose?

A: Yes, it will work just fine. A couple things to optimize; use 3/8 hose as 1/4 will take a little more at the source to get what you want at the tool. Replace any 1/4” fittings with larger 3/8” and you will have maintained the optimum. Home Depot sells some fittings and quick connects with larger through holes that work very well. Look for them or go to an auto parts store and ask for the appropriate 3/8” fittings and any thread adaptors you may need.

Q: When storing and not in use, should the bottom valve remain open or closed?

A: I always open valve. When done using to release pressure and moisture. Then shut valve closed to keep moisture out. Most moisture or problems occur at bottom of tank on compressors.

Q: Can this be powered off of a cars lighter?

A: You would need an inverter to get 120VAC from your car's 12VDC. A lighter connection can supply in the neighborhood of 150 watts, but this guy needs about 750 watts, so you would need a bigger inverter than the lighter can support. The larger inverter would have to be connected directly to the battery.
